In anticipation of getting his college career off to an early start, top LSU football cornerback target Havon Finney Jr has officially reclassified into the class of 2026.

Five-star LSU cornerback target Havon Finney Jr reclassifying to the class of 2026

Sometimes, when you have top-end talent, it doesn’t matter who you’re facing off against. If anything, it’s just a matter of whether or not you’re willing to step up to the challenge.

For five-star class of 2027 cornerback Havon Finney Jr, it’s now becoming abundantly clear that he’s willing and able to step up to the challenge, as the talented DB out of Los Angeles, CA, has made the decision to reclassify to the 2026 cycle.

A former five-star, and top 5 overall recruit in the 2027 cycle, Finney Jr has some of the best ball skills in all of high school football, and notably plays against some of the toughest competition his level has to offer. Naturally, with the jump to the next class, his star rating did drop, but not as far as one might expect, as he still stands strong with a fourth star, ranking No. 119 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 12 among fellow cornerbacks.

Having been a starter at all three phases for Sierra Canyon since his freshman year, the transition to the class of 2026 makes a lot of sense for Havon Finney Jr. As a sophomore, he not only started, but excelled for his high school, logging 37 tackles, four interceptions, one forced fumble, two receptions, 63 yards receiving, and two punt return touchdowns in 12 games of action.

In short, while relatively unproven, the talented California-based cornerback has everything you could hope to get out of a recruit at his age. If he manages to put some extra muscle weight on over the next year or so – while maintaining his already elite athleticism – Finney Jr has all the potential he needs to end up in the top 100 before things are all said and done in the class of 2026.

Along with LSU football, he also appears to have his eyes on California, Georgia, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC and Washington.
