The LSU football recruiting class of 2026 once again received a major boost earlier this week, as four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez officially announced his commitment to head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers.
Four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez announces commitment to LSU football
With four of his starting offensive linemen headed to the NFL draft this offseason, head coach Brian Kelly has his work more than cut out for him as he looks to rebuild what was once viewed as one of the deepest position rooms on the entire LSU football roster.
Fortunately, with several of the top class of 2026 offensive linemen currently residing in Louisiana, the Tigers certainly look poised to make quick work of that rebuild. If anything, it’s just a matter of keeping the priority recruits within state lines.
While this is likely to be easier said than done, it’s worth noting that the purple and gold are off to an excellent start. Having already landed their first Louisiana-based offensive lineman on July 28, 2024, in three-star New Orleans product Jalan Chapman, coach Kelly has officially boosted that number to two, most recently landing a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez, out of Gonzales, LA.
Listed as a 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle, Martinez has long been viewed as one of the top players in the class of 2026, currently finding himself rated as a four-star recruit, and the No. 59 player overall, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Having first began his starting career with East Ascension High School as a freshman in 2022, Martinez has no shortage of experience under his belt, and has garnered attention from many of the top programs in college football, most recently receiving an offer from Alabama in early January.
With the addition of Brysten Martinez, the LSU football recruiting class of 2026 now ranks as the No. 3 group nationally, as well as No. 1 in the SEC, with six total commitments.
