With football season having come to a close for the 2023 campaign, many high schoolers across the country are taking their newly found free time to take some visits. Class of 2025 four-star defensive lineman Gus Cordova is especially taking advantage of this, visiting LSU along with five other schools over the next two months.

Talented four-star defensive lineman will take a spring visit to LSU next month

One of the most important recruiting tools that rarely gets talked about is visit season. Talking to recruits can only do so much, but more often than not, getting them on campus ends up being the difference maker.

For coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers, they’re likely hoping to take full advantage of this as we head into year three of his tenure in Baton Rouge.

In turn, we’ve already seen several big recruiting weekends with plenty more on the way. One weekend to watch for will naturally be April 13, with the spring game taking place, and now it seems as though we can add Saturday, March 9 to the list.

Earlier today, class of 2025 four-star defensive lineman Gus Cordova outlined his planned visits with Sam Spiegelman of On3, which included an impressive six trips over the next two months.

Along with a visit to LSU, he’ll take trips to Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Texas A&M and Texas from March 8 until April 20.

A 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive lineman out of Austin, TX, Cordova has the potential to rise at a pretty rapid pace over the next few months. With offers from several top programs including Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington, his recruitment doesn’t necessarily match his current unranked status, according to 247Sports.

After initially offering the class of 2025 defensive lineman in early February, this could be a recruitment to watch, especially with his upcoming visit.

As things stand, LSU has the No. 1 recruiting class nationally, with nine pledges rated as a four-star or better. Adding a talented player to the defensive interior would only further improve an already impressive cycle for the purple and gold.
