The ball is finally starting to roll for LSU football recruiting in the class of 2026, as five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys – one of the top players in all of high school football – most recently included the Tigers in his list of top 12 schools.
Five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys includes LSU football among his top 12 landing spots
Sometimes, all you need to find some success at the highest level of college football is a little bit of a chance, and that’s exactly what Brian Kelly and the future of LSU football is hoping to find in the recruitment of five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.
Rated as one of the top overall players in all of high school football, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound pass catcher out of Hattiesburg, MS, has no shortage of teams hoping to eventually land his commitment.
Still, even despite being over a year away from needing to make that final decision, it seems as though he’s starting to get a feel for what he ultimately wants, most recently trimming his list of schools to 12, which most notably included the purple and gold of Baton Rouge, LA.
A three-sport athlete for his high school, Keys is the kind of athlete that can out run a defender (track and field), or straight up jump over them (basketball) to grab a reception.
In turn, he’s made his way all the way up to No. 4 overall, according to 247Sports, as well as No. 1 among fellow pass catchers, and for the time being, it doesn’t feel like he’s in much danger of losing that high standing in the class of 2026.
Possessing the ability to attack opposing defenses at all three levels, Tristen Keys consistently forces a team to gameplan around him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to. As a junior, the five-star wide receiver recorded 58 receptions, for 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns, setting himself up for a monster senior year.
Along with LSU football, Keys released an incredibly SEC-heavy list of top schools that included Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC.
