EA Sports College Football 25: LSU football defender projected to be highly rated

It’s safe to say anticipation has officially reached an all-time high. With the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game just months away from its initial release, LSU could have one of the highest rated players in the game, with linebacker Harold Perkins Jr receiving a projection in the 90s.

It’s been over a decade since college football fans had a new video game to play. Now, as we look ahead to the 2024 season, the wait is finally over, as EA sports will finally release their first college athletics related game since NCAA football 14 on July 9, 2013.

For anyone who may be unfamiliar with EA’s rating system, the highest a player can be rated is 99 overall, so if a player receives a 90+, it generally means they’re one of the better athletes in their individual sport.

It’s also important to note that high ratings don’t always match production, but rather, overall ability. So, as we look ahead to a likely summer release for EA Sports College Football 25, it’s only natural to wonder who could be the highest rated from the Tiger football team.

Well, according to Brad Crawford of 247Sports, it’s a pretty easy decision, as he recently projected star LSU linebacker Harold Perkins Jr as one of the best players in the entire country.

While we don’t yet know what the overall scale will look like for the upcoming video game, it’s a pretty safe assumption that the soon-to-be junior linebacker will likely be one of the highest rated in the entire game.

Sitting as the fourth highest overall at a 95, it’s almost certain that his high-rating is attached to his overall athleticism. Having recorded 13 sacks and 146 total tackles in his first two seasons, he has an uncanny ability to fly all over the field, thanks in large part to his elite speed.

Under new defensive coordinator Blake Baker, star linebacker Harold Perkins Jr is likely looking forward to what could potentially be his final season with the purple and gold.

Entering his junior season, he will officially be eligible for the 2025 NFL draft and will hope to make a strong impression on scouts throughout the upcoming season. Following a relatively “down” year for the New Orleans, LA, product, a boost in production this season could do big things for his stock as an NFL prospect.

There’s no doubt he has the potential to be one of the best defensive players in the country. Now, it’s just a matter of proving it and maybe even outperform his future EA Sports College Football 25 rating.
