It’s official visit season for many of the top recruits in the class of 2025, but that hasn’t exactly stopped the following cycles from taking advantage of their summer breaks. Most recently, class of 2026 quarterback Dia Bell informed Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports that he’ll be taking a trip to LSU football later this month along with two other elite programs.
Elite class of 2026 quarterback Dia Bell plans on taking a visit with LSU later this month
While historically, LSU football hasn’t exactly come to be known for elite quarterback play, recent memory has been largely the opposite. Thanks to recent Heisman Trophy winners Joe Burrow (2019) and Jayden Daniels (2023), the purple and gold have not only found themselves with a reputation for developing high-level signal callers, but recruiting has notably followed suit.
Since taking over the Tiger football program, coach Brian Kelly has landed commitments from several blue chip quarterbacks, including Rickie Collins (four-star, class of 2023), Colin Hurley (four-star, class of 2024) and most recently Bryce Underwood (five-star, class of 2025).
Now, the program has their eye to the future and is officially set to host class of 2026 quarterback Dia Bell for a visit to Baton Rouge later this month, according to a report from Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
Ranking No. 10 nationally and No. 3 among fellow signal callers, according to the 247Sports Composite, Bell is officially listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds and largely feels like he still has plenty of room for improvement before things are all said and done.
Primarily known for his ball placement, he’s not the most impressive physically, but everything else seems to be right around the top of his class, which helps to explain his high rating up to this point. With that said, he’s also a surprisingly good athlete, having averaged 20.7 points, 5.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game as a freshman for the American Heritage High School basketball team in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Along with the purple and gold, Bell is set to take visits to both Florida State and Ohio State later this month. Additionally, having already seen trips to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Penn State, Texas and Utah, among several others, he’s notably receiving attention from just about every program and the country and will essentially have his pick of the lot.
As we stand today, Penn State is the current favorite to eventually land his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. With that said, 13 teams hold a 3.6 percent chance or better with the class of 2026 quarterback, so it could be quite some time until we finally see anyone pull away in this one.
