The debate has been going on for what feels like a century. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is a legend at the collegiate level and is best remembered for his time in the purple and gold of LSU football. However many Ohio State fans have tried to claim him, but the star quarterback has finally set the record straight, explaining that he played football for the Tigers.
Quarterback Joe Burrow says he played college ball for LSU football
In his time with LSU football, quarterback Joe Burrow put up some of the most impressive stats in college football history. While donning the purple and gold, he threw the ball 906 times for 8,565 yards, 76 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions.
After putting up numbers like that, it almost feels like common sense that he would be primarily viewed as a former LSU Tiger. After all, his time playing football there is what he’s best known for at the college level.
However, he first began his career at Ohio State and graduated as a Buckeye in 2018. In large part due to that fact, many fans of the program have attempted to claim him as an Ohio State quarterback.
The big issue with those claims is that he completed just 29 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns while representing the scarlet and grey.
Nevertheless, after today, the debate can hopefully come to an end. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has officially made his statement on the debate, clearing things up for fans of either program.
With this clarification, when it comes to the game of football, Joe Burrow is a Tiger through and through.
