Continuing its hot streak in the world of recruiting, LSU football has officially landed a commitment from class of 2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys, out of Hattiesburg, MS.

LSU football recruiting class of 2026 jumps to No. 1 nationally after commitment from five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys

Wide Receiver University, and more specifically, LSU wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton has officially struck again.

After snagging signatures from nine blue chip pass catchers in the last three cycles combined, the Tiger assistant coach might actually be getting better on the recruiting trail. As of March 19, 2025, the LSU football class of 2026 holds commitments from just seven total players. The kicker? Three of those seven just so happen to be a part of the wide receiver position.

Joining fellow blue chip pass catchers Jakai Anderson and Kenny Darby, is five-star Tristen Keys who has quickly made himself the top-rated player pledged to the Tigers this cycle.

Officially listed as a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver out of Hattiesburg, MS, Keys is not only rated as one of the top players in the purple and gold class of 2026, but in the entire country. Sitting pretty at No. 3 nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, as well as No. 1 among fellow pass catchers, the three-sport athlete is by far one of the top players in high school football, and as of today, he’s set to take his talents to Baton Rouge for the 2026 season.

A high-level competitor in basketball, and track and field, as well as football, the Mississippi-based wide receiver is undoubtedly an elite athlete from top to bottom, and he knows how to turn that ability into productivity.

Having recorded 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns on 58 receptions as a junior in 2024, the five-star recruit was nearly impossible to stop this past season, helping him to MaxPreps Junior All-American standing, as well as a spot in both the Polynesian Bowl and the Under Armour All-America game this year.

Officially the seventh LSU commitment this cycle, Keys selected the Tigers over a slew of SEC-based suitors, including Alabama, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
