The transfer portal is in full force, and likely getting the bulk of attention for most programs in college football. Still, that doesnât necessarily mean high school recruiting has slowed in the slightest. Coach Brian Kelly is still in the midst of completing his class of 2024, and they may be making a move for another top-100 recruit, as Georgia wide receiver commit Nitro Tuggle will visit LSU next weekend.
Georgia wide receiver commit Nitro Tuggle will visit LSU football next weekend
You can truly never have too many weapons on the outside. Just ask quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is one of the top candidates to win the Heisman Trophy in 2023, largely thanks to playmakers such as wide receivers Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr.
Heading into the future, coach Brian Kelly would love to continue this trend, and recruiting the best of the best is an excellent way of making it happen. In the class of 2024, the Tigers already boast four committed elite pass catchers, including top-100 tight end TreyâDez Green and wide receiver Jelani Watkins.
Still, the moment you slow down recruiting is the moment other teams creep up and pass you by. Thatâs why itâs so encouraging that Georgia wide receiver commit Nitro Tuggle just announced his visit to LSU next weekend.
Tuggle, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver out of Nappanee, IN, is by far one of the best players in the country, regardless of position. Ranking No. 64 nationally, according to 247Sports, he has immediate impact potential, and could do exactly that if he were to end up in Baton Rouge.
Notably, with his hometown being less than an hour away from Notre Dameâs campus, coach Brian Kelly may have a bit more of an advantage when it comes to relating to the Midwestern star.
Prior to being hired at LSU, coach Kelly spent the previous 12 seasons in South Bend, IN, coaching the Fighting Irish to seven 10+ win seasons.
Ultimately, for now, itâs just a visit and with the four-star wide receiver currently being a Georgia commitment, it could take quite a bit to flip him over to the purple and gold. Still, getting him to Baton Rouge is an excellent start and could be reason to keep an eye on his recruitment.
