Class of 2026 four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy announces decommitment from LSU
Just one week following an in-person visit from LSU head coach Brian Kelly, four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy has announced his decommitment from the purple and gold.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-6, 245-pound defensive lineman out of Tupelo, MS, McCoy is one of the most physically gifted recruits in the entire class of 2026.

Rated as the No. 79 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 6 at his position, JaReylan McCoy has shown some notable flashes as a part of the Tupelo High School football program, recording 23 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as a sophomore in 2023, before taking a slight step back in 2024, logging just 7.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks as a junior.
The four-star defensive lineman had previously been committed to LSU for just over a month, initially announcing his pledge to the Tigers on January 2, 2025. With todayās decommitment, eyes will now shift to his 30+ other offers, as in-state Ole Miss and Mississippi State figure to play a major role in his future recruitment.
The purple and gold class of 2026 now ranks as the No. 12 group nationally, as well as No. 6 in the SEC, with six total commitments.
