As good a coach as Kim Mulkey is, it takes more than just coaching to win in today’s era of women’s college basketball. You still need to bring in talent and develop it. Later this week, five-star LSU women’s basketball recruiting target, point guard Jaloni Cambridge will make her final choice between Baylor, Florida, LSU, Louisville and Ohio State.
Five-star LSU women’s basketball recruiting target Jaloni Cambridge making final college choice this week
It seems like every single year, the freshman talent entering women’s college basketball gets better and better, and the class of 2024 is no different. In turn, teams are improving at an increased rate and it’s only getting harder to compete.
In order to compete, you need to continue bringing in special talent, and that’s exactly what coach Kim Mulkey has set out to do. Just last year, she brought in the top rated group in the class of 2023, only building off of the LSU national championship win last April.
Now, she has her eyes fixed on the class of 2024, and the Tigers are in contention for a five-star point guard who will be announcing her final decision later this week. Today, LSU women’s basketball recruiting target Jaloni Cambridge announced that she will make her commitment this coming Friday.
Cambridge ranks as one of the best recruits in the country, and it’s for good reason. According to the espnW 100, the 5-foot-6 Florida native is the No. 3 player in the nation and the No. 1 point guard.
With the combination of solid size, speed and shooting ability, she’s lethal on the offensive side of the ball. Only adding to her already impressive skillset, she’s one of the best passers in the entire class.
Looking ahead to Friday, she’ll make her decision between several top programs, including coach Kim Mulkey’s former coaching stop. Her final list is made up by Baylor, Florida, LSU, Louisville and Ohio State.
Jada Richard, a four-star point guard out of Louisiana is the sole commitment for the Tigers in the class of 2024. Still, don’t be surprised to see a recruiting firework or two before things are all said and done.
