And just like that, the LSU football recruiting efforts have finally landed their first flip commitment of the day, as five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas will make the switch from Florida State over to the purple and gold.

Since the day Brian Kelly took over in Baton Rouge, he made it well known that he had the goal of building his championship team from the line of scrimmage out.

In turn, with the help of offensive line coach Brad Davis, the Tigers have consistently placed a significant emphasis on the offensive line, and for the fourth recruiting cycle in a row, the Tigers have completely dominated in that department.

In 2022, the Tiger head coach brought in offensive tackles Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr through recruiting and Miles Frazier via the transfer portal. One cycle later, offensive tackles Tyree Adams and Lance Heard, center DJ Chester and offensive guard Paul Mubenga joined the position room. Now, as we move into a fourth year under head coach Brian Kelly, the trend does not appear to be going away anytime soon, as he most recently landed a signing day flip commitment from five-star inside offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, out of Jacksonville, FL.

A long-time commitment for Florida State, Thomas is officially listed as a 6-foot-4, 315-pound inside offensive lineman, who has the kind of size that would allow him to immediately compete for reps on a fairly depleted Tiger offensive line in 2025. Additionally, rated as a five-star recruit, and the No. 24 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, the Raines High School standout has quickly become the highest graded offensive lineman in this purple and gold class of 2025.

LSU was notably the only out of state program who appeared well within the race for the talented five-star, as Florida and Miami both made a late push alongside the Tigers.

With Solomon Thomas having officially made the flip over to the bayou this evening, the Tigers now sit at No. 9 nationally, as well as No. 6 within the SEC, with 23 signatures and 24 total commitments. Derek Meadows is the final pledge who has yet to sign his papers, with programs such as Alabama and Michigan having made a strong push since the Bryce Underwood decommitment late last month.
