And with that, one of the most incredible careers we’ve ever seen for Tiger athletics just got the opportunity to become even more legendary. After helping the program to win their first ever gymnastics national championship just over a week ago, LSU star senior Haleigh Bryant has announced that she’ll be returning in 2024-25 for her fifth and final year of eligibility.

LSU star senior makes the decision on her final year of eligibility

When discussing the greatest athletes in LSU athletics history, it doesn’t take long to realize that LSU star senior Haleigh Bryant has about as good an argument as any.

From winning the NCAA vault title as a freshman in 2021, to becoming the first Tiger to ever record a gym slam (perfect 10 in all four events during a career), to most recently helping her team to the first national championship in LSU gymnastics history, it’s nearly impossible to find anything she hasn’t accomplished during her collegiate career.

With that said, she doesn’t appear to be satisfied just yet, and after today’s announcement, the 5-foot-5, Cornelius, NC, product sounds ready to see what more she can do as a part of the purple and gold.

Following Bryant’s decision to return to Baton Rouge in 2024-25, it’s a safe bet that LSU gymnastics will likely head into the new season as favorites to potentially repeat as national champions.

However, if this past women’s basketball season taught us anything, it’s that there’s no such thing as a sure fire favorite in college athletics. The LSU star senior will need to come back hungry and ready to show what she can do in what will be her fifth season of college gymnastics if the Tigers want any chance at continuing to compete at the highest level in the sport.

Luckily for her, she won’t be doing it alone, as the purple and gold are set to return several other key pieces of their championship roster, including elite freshmen Amari Drayton and Konnor McClain, along with impressive juniors KJ Johnson and Aleah Finnegan, among many others.

As if that weren’t enough, coach Jay Clark will make his return to the program in 2024-25, even despite outside teams reportedly pursuing the newly coined national championship winning head coach just last week.

The program is still awaiting final decisions from multiple other seniors, including Livvy Dunne, who would likely have an opportunity to make an immediate impact on both the floor and beam events next season if she is to return to the purple and gold.
