After first announcing his commitment to LSU football recruiting on August 3, 2024, class of 2026 four-star safety Aiden Hall gave the Tigers some more good news Wednesday morning, as he has now officially shut down his recruitment.
Class of 2026 blue chip safety Aiden Hall solidifies commitment to LSU football recruiting
For coaches all around the country, one of the most difficult aspects of recruiting is the fact that there is so much they simply can’t control. From recruits taking visits to opposing campuses, to the constant communication that players receive from coaches throughout the country, it’s often near impossible to know exactly when another program is on the verge of stealing a commitment.
For head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU football program, they’re certainly no exception to the rule. In fact, just last cycle, the Tigers appeared well on their way to snagging a signature from the No. 1 player in high school football, Bryce Underwood, before the Michigan Wolverines swooped in and won him over just prior to national signing day.
Fortunately for the purple and gold, as we find ourselves a little over one full month into the class of 2026 cycle, it appears that things are moving in a much more positive direction. While they did face one decommitment already from Mississippi-based defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy, they’ve also stood strong with several other commitments, most recently receiving word that four-star safety Aiden Hall has officially shut down his recruitment, electing to stick with his pledge to the Tigers.
Listed as a 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety out of New Orleans, LA, Aiden Hall was a big get for head coach Brian Kelly when he first committed, and still to this day, he remains as one of the top Tiger commitments in the class of 2026.
Rated as a four-star recruit, and the No. 65 player nationally, according to the 247 Sports Composite, as well as No. 6 among fellow safeties, the Edna Karr standout has quickly emerged as one of the very best players in high school football.
As a junior, Hall showed the ability to serve his defensive coordinator both on the outside as a cover corner, as well as a deep safety with the athleticism to go downhill to make a tackle behind the line of scrimmage.
That kind of versatility is something that any team in college football would love to have, and for the time being, it appears that defensive coordinator Blake Baker has officially found himself a guy with the potential to be a multi-year impact player for the purple and gold.
