LSU football recruiting has now landed four commitments in the class of 2026 cycle, as New Orleans safety Aiden Hall became the latest to announce his intent to stay in-state.
LSU football recruiting lands fourth commitment of class of 2026 in elite Louisiana-based safety
The LSU football recruiting class of 2026 has just received a major boost to its overall rating.
After first offering elite class of 2026 safety Aiden Hall back in May, the Tigers have now done enough to keep the New Orleans, LA, product in-state, as he announced his commitment to the purple and gold earlier this afternoon.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back out of Edna Karr High School, Hall has some of the best upside in the entire state, thanks in large part to his versatility throughout the defensive backfield. With the ability to play safety, corner or nickel, he adds impressive flexibility to any defense he’s a part of, and there’s little doubt that defensive coordinator Blake Baker is looking forward to potentially utilizing him within his own defense.
Rated as a current four-star recruit and the No. 51 player nationally, according to On3, Hall first burst onto the scene as a sophomore in 2023, helping his team to a 10-2 overall record while spending plenty of time moving between safety and nickel.
While his ability as a tackler could use some polishing, he’s shown serious promise downfield as a pass defender, displaying a willingness to cover tight ends and bigger targets, which should only help with his eventual transition to the college level.
With today’s commitment, the LSU football recruiting class of 2026 now ranks No. 9 nationally, as well as No. 5 in-conference with four total pledges. It’s notable to mention that Hall is now not only the top commitment for the Tigers in the cycle, but he’s also the fourth pledge from the city of New Orleans.
Coach Brian Kelly wanted to place an emphasis on keeping Louisiana recruits in-state, and while it’s still early, it’s safe to say that his efforts are already paying off and are likely only getting started.
