Having just landed two class of 2026 commitments over the weekend, LSU football recruiting will soon know if they can land the No. 1 quarterback in the cycle, as Faizon Brandon is set to make his official commitment later this summer in August.
Elite LSU football recruiting target Faizon Brandon to make August commitment
When it comes to the quarterback position in college football, very few programs have come even close to producing at the level that LSU has over the last five years or so. Thanks in large part to players such as Heisman Trophy winners Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels, recruiting has also taken quite the uptick.
Having already landed the No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle ā Bryce Underwood ā LSU football recruiting has largely moved on to the class of 2026, and they already appear to have their sights set on yet another highly ranked signal caller.
Faizon Brandon, the top-rated quarterback in the upcoming cycle is unsurprisingly receiving interest from just about every program in the country. In turn, heās also had a pretty busy visit schedule over the last few months, which has included several trips to Baton Rouge, LA, with the most recent having occurred just last weekend.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-4, 195-pound quarterback out of Greensboro, NC, Brandon has put together quite the two-year career with Grimsley High School and has found himself with an equally impressive list of interested programs.
Rated as a five-star recruit, according to 247Sports, as well as the No. 1 player overall in the class of 2026, he possesses offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee and many others.
While the talented recruit easily could have taken his time with the process and wait to see what everyone has to offer this coming season, it appears that heās just about ready to make a final decision. Earlier today, the five-star quarterback made it known that heās elected to move his commitment timeline all the way up to August 3, prior to the fall season.
With the 2024 football season rapidly approaching, more and more rising high school juniors are beginning to make their college choices, and LSU football recruiting has been a beneficiary.
Just this week, the Tigers landed their first and second commitments of the cycle, as defensive lineman Richard Anderson and athlete Jakai Anderson each made the decision to stay within Louisiana for their future home. While itās still incredibly early, the pair have helped leapfrog the Tiger class of 2026 group all the way up to No. 11 nationally.
