Coach Brian Kelly has made it clear that Texas is a priority for him when it comes to recruiting. Notably, he’s made some big-time moves at the state in both the current and upcoming classes. Today, LSU football recruiting was named a finalist for class of 2025 wide receiver Jacorey Watson.

When coach Brian Kelly and LSU football recruiting landed five-star class of 2025 wide receiver Dakorien Moore back in August, it was hard not to feel like it could be an indicator of things to come.

Since then, the Tigers have begun trending for several big-time recruits, including five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood and now four-star athlete Jacorey Watson.

Today, Watson, a top-200 recruit out of Pearland, TX, announced his list of top-10 schools, including LSU football recruiting.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Jacorey Watson is the No. 137 player in the country and the No. 24 player in Texas. Furthermore, he ranks as the No. 22 wide receiver in the class of 2025.

While he’s officially listed as a wide receiver, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound four-star is an athlete through and through. While playing for Shadow Creek High School, Watson has shown the ability to catch, run, pass and even return kicks.

Through five games in 2023, he played primarily as a quarterback but recorded a total of 1,330 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Along with the Tigers, the athlete is considering several other top college football programs, including TCU, Houston, Duke, Ole Miss, Mizzou, Texas, Michigan, Oregon and Kansas.
