Just one week following the flip decommitment of five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the LSU football class of 2025 has once again suffered another loss, as four-star edge rusher LA Jesse Harrold announced his decommitment from the Tigers on Thursday.
Four-star edge rusher LA Jesse Harrold announces Thanksgiving decommitment from LSU football, already has a projected landing spot
When it rains, it pours, and for LSU football, they’re experiencing quite the storm ahead of the class of 2025 national signing day.
Getting things started, five-star quarterback, and the No. 1 player in the country, Bryce Underwood, announced his flip commitment from the Tigers to his home-state Michigan Wolverines. At the time, it was understandably disappointing for the program, as with just a few weeks remaining until signing day, it appeared that the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Belleville product was the future in Baton Rouge.
With that said, his decommitment almost immediately sent shockwaves throughout college football, and it seems as though the aftermath is finally starting to hit the purple and gold.
While families all around the country were enjoying their Thanksgiving meals, coach Brian Kelly and the LSU football program ended up suffering their second loss in a week span, as four-star edge rusher LA Jesse Harrold announced his decommitment from the Tiger class of 2025.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-4, 230-pound edge rusher out of Tampa, FL, Harrold was previously rated as one of the top recruits in this cycle for the purple and gold, sitting at No. 143 nationally, according to 247Sports, as well as No. 13 at his position.
Harrold had previously been committed to LSU football since June 22, 2024, but it appears that he already has eyes on a future destination, as he elected to take an official visit to in-state Florida State just one day later on November 29, 2024.
Only adding to the potential landing spot, shortly after his announcement on Thursday, Steve Wiltfong of On3 went ahead and logged an expert prediction for the talented edge rusher to ultimately end up with the Seminoles.
The LSU football class of 2025 now ranks No. 6 nationally, as well as No. 5 in the SEC, with 25 total commitments. The early national signing period is officially just a few days away, beginning on December 4, so now it’s just up to Brian Kelly and his entire coaching staff to keep the group as together as possible heading into the final stretch.
