LSU football currently has one of the best recruiting classes in the country. Sitting at No. 5 overall, it’s hard not to feel good about where they stand. Still, there’s one major hole in their class of 2024: the offensive line. Now, the Tigers are looking to change that, as they were recently named a finalist for three-star William Sanders.

When you’re looking to build a program, offensive line is one of the top priorities. After all, how else are you supposed to protect your quarterback?

That’s why it’s so encouraging to see LSU football competing with SEC powers Alabama and Mississippi State for three-star William Sanders.

Sanders is listed as the No. 841 player nationally and the No. 55 inside offensive lineman, according to 247 Sports.

Despite his lower ranking, William Sanders is not short of suitors. He has some of the top programs in the country recruiting him, which translates directly to his top three schools.

Along with LSU football, Alabama and Mississippi State were named finalists for the class of 2024 offensive lineman. His hometown Crimson Tide are the current favorites to land him.

For now, LSU football has just one offensive line commitment for the class of 2024. That’s why the recruitment of William Sanders is so important. Still, coach Brian Kelly understands the need and is likely making moves toward recruiting the position.

Inside offensive lineman Khayree Lee is the only offensive line commitment for the Tigers. He’s a three-star prospect, listed as the No. 622 player nationally and No. 39 at his position, per 247 Sports.

Lee is also one of the 10 commitments for LSU football from the state of Louisiana. He’s also the No. 2 offensive lineman out of the boot.

While it isn’t necessarily a concern yet, it’s time for LSU football to make some moves. You can have all the talent in the world, but winning at the highest level is nearly impossible without elite players in the trenches.

Keep an eye on this recruitment as Brian Kelly looks to make a splash. If William Sanders ultimately commits to the Tigers, it will be just another win over Alabama to add to the growing list in recent years.
