LSU football offensive line recruiting is absolutely on fire right now. Heading into yesterday, the Tigers had just two commits at the position. Now, they have three and appear well on their way to number four. Just an hour before the commitment of class of 2024 offensive lineman Ory Williams, former Ole Miss commit, and top Louisiana offensive line recruitĀ Joseph Cryer decommitted from the Rebels.

Top Louisiana offensive line recruit decommits from Ole Miss following LSU football offer

Itā€™s been a busy week for newly uncommitted three-star offensive lineman Joseph Cryer. The Louisiana native first received an offer from the LSU football program on Wednesday, July 26, and immediately visited Baton Rouge the following day.

Then, just one day later, he made his way over to Oxford, MS, home of the Ole Miss Rebels. He was committed to the program at the time, and it seemed like a typical visit.

Now, just over two days following his visit to Oxford, the stud offensive lineman announced his decommitment from the Rebels.

The timing of this couldnā€™t be much better for coach Brian Kelly and LSU football. Not only did they offer him this past week, but he also just visited Baton Rouge.

Not to mention, yesterday evening, the Tigers received not one, not two, but five crystal ball predictions for the class of 2024 Louisiana offensive lineman. If thatā€™s not an excellent sign for the purple and gold, Iā€™m not sure there is one.

When it comes to recruiting the offensive line, Kelly is clearly in his element. Considering this is just his second offseason with the program, itā€™s easy to be excited for the future of the program.

Joseph ā€œBig Hossā€ Cryer could be yet another highly underrated Louisiana offensive lineman

Just yesterday, the Tigers landed a big-time commitment from Texas offensive tackle Ory ā€œBig Babyā€ Williams. Now, Kellyā€™s efforts seem to be shifting to Louisiana offensive lineman Joseph ā€œBig Hossā€ Cryer.

Wouldnā€™t that be a fun duo to watch over the years?

First, the Tigers need to find a way to land a commitment from the big inside offensive lineman out of Natchitoches, LA. As things stand, Cryer ranks as theĀ No. 966 player in the countryĀ and a three-star recruit. Itā€™s also important to note that while heā€™s ranked No. 33 in Louisiana, heā€™s also theĀ No. 2 inside offensive lineman in the state, just behind LSU football commit Khayree Lee.

Despite the lower ranking, this is a recruitment youā€™ll want to watch the game tape for. Considering he stands at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, the three-star moves incredibly well and has power to match.

Itā€™s not uncommon to see Cryer plow through opposing defenses as if theyā€™re ragdolls. With just one current inside offensive line commit in the class of 2024, this is the exact kind of recruit Kelly was likely searching for.

Plenty of work is left to be done, but itā€™s hard not to feel good about where the Tigers stand in this recruitment. Kelly is heating up on the trail, and LSU football is the beneficiary. Now, he has to finish the job and ensure it translates to the field.
