Only further continuing their efforts to secure commitments from some of the top players in the class of 2026, LSU football has most recently been included as a top 10 contender for elite Florida-based edge rusher Trenton Henderson, out of Pensacola, FL.
Elite Florida-based edge rusher Trenton Henderson includes LSU football among his top contending programs
If you have any plans of competing with the best, you need to make sure that you’re putting in the effort to recruit the best. For head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU football program, that means looking both in-state, as well as away from Louisiana borders to bring some of the top talent in high school recruiting down to Baton Rouge, and the early signs show that they’re hoping to do just that in the class of 2026.
Already possessing commitments from six in-state recruits, the purple and gold are at the very least off to a good start, and it appears that they’re only just getting started. Further building on their early efforts this offseason, the Tigers have most recently been named to the top 10 for elite Florida-based edge rusher, Trent Henderson, meaning that LSU is officially in the running for one of the very best recruits in high school football.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-5, 220-pound edge rusher, Henderson has shown off one of the best combinations of size and speed in his entire cycle. In turn, he’s given himself an excellent shot at securing one of the 32 five-star spots by the time his high school career ultimately comes to a close next fall, currently sitting at No. 12 nationally, according to 247Sports, as well as No. 1 in the state of Florida.
With past experience at linebacker, Henderson has the kind of skillset that allows him to make an impact in multiple phases of the game, recording 50 total tackles this past season, as well as 18 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hurries, 10 sacks, six passes broken up, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 10 game appearances.
Along with LSU football, the Pensacola Catholic standout has included Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, USC and Vanderbilt in his official top 10.
