Just a few weeks ago, the LSU basketball class of 2024 was empty. Now, they have two commits, both of which are stud four-stars.

While they’re likely still working on that class, coach Matt McMahon and the Tigers have also begun to move forward to the junior class. Today, class of 2025 basketball recruit Alier Maluk named his top five, including LSU.

Despite his youth, Alier Maluk is still widely viewed as a top class of 2025 basketball recruit. According to the 247 Sports Composite, he ranks as the No. 41 player overall and the No. 5 center.

Standing at 6-foot-10, 178 pounds, the power forward out of Glen Head, NY, no doubt has the height to compete but also has plenty of room to fill out his frame.

While he might not be there yet physically, his finesse is top-tier, allowing him to shoot the ball, score down low and play solid defense around the rim.

Along with the Tigers, Pitt, Florida State, Oregon and Ohio State made today’s cut. Keep an eye on the star power forward as coach Matt McMahon looks to continue building the future of LSU basketball.
