There was no shortage of splash hires for the 2024 LSU coaching staff throughout the early parts of the college football offseason. Interestingly enough, it seems as though they might not be done either. Early Saturday, it was reported that the Tigers are set to hire Ohio State offensive analyst Todd Fitch as a senior offensive analyst.
LSU is reportedly set to hire Ohio State offensive analyst Todd Fitch
As far as offensive analysts go at the college football level, it doesn’t get much more experienced than that of Ohio State offensive analyst Todd Fitch. After beginning his coaching career at Ohio Wesleyan as a graduate assistant in 1986, he’s since made stops at more than 10 other schools, including multiple SEC programs.
Having coached wide receivers, running backs, special teams and quarterbacks, it’s safe to say he knows his way around an offense. Additionally, during his time with Ohio State over the last three seasons, the Buckeyes have proven to be a consistent force at the national level on offense.
However, as we look ahead to the 2024 season, the veteran coach may find himself as a part of yet another football program, as Wilson Alexander of The Advocate reported that LSU is likely to hire Fitch as a senior offensive analyst with the Tigers.
Over the course of his career, Fitch has worked with several of the best offensive stars in the country, particularly when you look at his track record with the Buckeyes. Most recently, he spent two seasons with 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year quarterback CJ Stroud and three seasons with projected first round wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
If the reports follow through and Fitch ends up with the LSU coaching staff, he’ll be joining a hefty list of new additions. Among the names of note include defensive coordinator Blake Baker, defensive line coach Bo Davis, secondary coach Corey Raymond and tight ends coach Slade Nagle.
