Multiple LSU football star players made themselves a lot of money in 2023. Namely, on offense, Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr found a way to launch themselves into first round discussions. Earlier this offseason in preparation for the draft, several Tigers were named as the perfect prospect for certain NFL teams.
LSU football star quarterback Jayden Daniels listed as perfect prospect for multiple NFL teams
Unsurprisingly, LSU football star quarterback Jayden Daniels will be high up on several boards as we look ahead to the NFL draft. Despite entering the 2023 season in a battle for a starting spot, he could even be the No. 1 player available for many teams.
Earlier this offseason, Trevor Sikkema of PFF released a list of the perfect prospect for each NFL team. The list not only takes into account team needs, but overall playmaking ability.
For LSU signal caller Jayden Daniels, he just so happened to find himself on the list multiple times, as he was named for both the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
The highest pick of the two franchises belongs to the Atlanta Falcons, sitting at No. 8 overall. Jayden Daniels as a prospect for Atlanta makes plenty of sense with the inconsistency at quarterback this past season. If they were to select the star signal caller, it would not only make him a top-10 pick overall, but it would stick him with some big-time playmakers such as running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London.
For Louisiana fans, there’s little doubt many will be hoping to see the New Orleans Saints end up selecting the Tiger quarterback at No. 14. While Derek Carr sits as the current starter, a change of pace could be an option after a tough 2023 campaign for the Saints offense. If Daniels ends up staying in-state, he’d be working alongside running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Chris Olave among others.
Wide receiver Malik Nabers to Los Angeles?
Interestingly enough, the LSU football star quarterback wasn’t the only former Tiger specified as a perfect prospect by Sikkema in his article. Joining the party, wide receiver Malik Nabers was named as the perfect prospect for the Los Angeles Chargers.
With the Chargers franchise having just drafted wide receiver Quentin Johnston last draft, it’s an interesting selection to say the least. However, with them looking for a new coach heading into 2024, don’t be surprised to see them look to get a new star player to get things off to a hot start.
The NFL combine first begins late next month, going from February 29 until March 3, while the draft will first begin on April 25 in Detroit, MI.
