The most important position on any football team is the quarterback. Those are the players who run your offense and generally find themselves in a leadership position. So, when you go through the recruiting process, you need to make an effort to get the best quarterbacks in the country. That’s exactly what the Tigers are doing as LSU football is making a strong push for class of 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood.
LSU football is making a strong push for five-star Bryce Underwood
Coach Brian Kelly is looking to create an elite quarterback room. He’s already done an excellent job of this, as he has three four-stars on roster and has added another with the class of 2024.
Now, he’s looking to take things to another level by targeting the No. 1 quarterback in the country, Bryce Underwood. The Michigan native is rated a five-star in the class of 2025.
While the Tigers are currently playing catchup versus in-state schools Michigan and Michigan State, there’s definitely some interest. Most recently, Underwood took a trip to Baton Rouge and could even be seen hanging out in Tiger Stadium.
Needless to say, purple and gold looks good on the No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2025.
This was Underwood’s second trip to Baton Rouge since March
With this being Underwood’s second trip to LSU, the Tigers are in a very good spot. When looking at his in-state schools, he’s taken seven visits to Michigan and five to Michigan State.
While that might seem daunting, it’s important to remember that accessibility is a significant factor there. The University of Michigan is about 20 miles away from his hometown. For the sake of comparison, Baton Rouge is somewhere around 1,100 miles away.
Early signs point to Underwood leaning towards staying close to home. Still, if he elects to go elsewhere, LSU football appears to be in an excellent position.
The five-star quarterback showed off his skills at an LSU camp over the weekend
You need to be an elite talent to be named the No. 1 quarterback of any class. That’s precisely why Bryce Underwood is ranked No. 1. He’s that good.
While visiting Baton Rouge over the weekend, he took part in an LSU camp and put on a show. It’s almost easy to forget that he just completed his sophomore year of high school a matter of weeks ago.
He put all of his skills on display, from throwing on the run to the deep ball hitting his wide receiver in stride.
Then, if you look at his size, it only adds to his case as the No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2025. Standing at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, he already looks like a college quarterback. It’s scary to imagine how much better he can get over the next two seasons of football.
