LSU football has quickly built one of the best quarterback rooms in the country. Still, the guys currently on campus wonāt be there forever, and keeping an eye on the future is essential. Now, Brian Kelly is doing just that with the recruitment of five-star class of 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood.
LSU football is in the thick of it for five-star class of 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood
Quarterback Bryce Underwood is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Regardless of class, heās at the top and is by far No. 1 for the class of 2025.
Underwood currently ranks as the No. 3 player nationally and the No. 1 quarterback, according to the 247 Sports Composite. In addition, he stands at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, so he already has the build to be a college quarterback.
Naturally, with talent like that, youāre going to be recruited by some of the top schools in the country. He has offers from schools such as Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia and LSU. He can essentially go wherever his heart desires.
Thereās plenty of time remaining in the class of 2025 recruiting cycle, but he might be narrowing his list already. This afternoon, he took to Twitter with four photos from recent visits.
Many have speculated that this could be a sneak peek at his finalists. While this likely wasnāt his intention in posting ā as these were the last four schools heās visited ā all four are likely schools heās heavily considering.
According to On3, the hometown Michigan Wolverines are the favorites to earn his commitment. Heās taken eight visits to Ann Arbor already and will likely visit more in the future.
Still, the Tigers are very much in the competition. Heās visited Baton Rouge twice now, with his most recent coming Mid-June. If coach Brian Kelly manages to steal him away from Michigan, it would be a massive victory for LSU football.
Underwood has one of the best arms in high school football
Itās almost assumed if youāre ranked the No. 1 quarterback that youāll have a halfway decent arm. Unsurprisingly, this is indeed the case with five-star Bryce Underwood. The soon-to-be junior can make just about every throw asked of him.
Even more impressive is the awareness and athleticism he has to go along with it. He moves around the pocket with ease and can even take off with the ball if protection breaks down.
His size stands out in particular while watching him throw. He towers above just about everyone and has no trouble picking apart some of the best defenses. And heās been doing it for years.
Itās definitely an uphill battle for coach Brian Kelly in recruiting against some of the more local schools. Still, LSU football is on the rise, and a big year from Jayden Daniels could do wonders for the outcome of this recruitment.
