Coach Brian Kelly has been experiencing quite the roller coaster on the recruiting trail. On one hand, he received some big-time class of 2024 commitments through the month of June. On the other, he also received some significant decommitments. Now, the Tigers might be in for some more bad news going forward, as major LSU cornerback target Wardell Mack appears to be trending to the Texas Longhorns.

Major LSU cornerback target Wardell Mack receives two crystal ball predictions to Texas

The Texas Longhorns don’t join the SEC until the 2024 season. Still, that hasn’t stopped them from competing with the SEC off the field through recruiting.

All offseason, LSU football has been forced to battle the Longhorns for many of the top recruits throughout the southeast. One of the biggest names has been five-star linebacker Colin Simmons. Now, the Longhorns might be trending for another major LSU target. The only difference is that they could be taking this one out of the Tigers’ backyard.

Four-star cornerback Wardell Mack has widely been viewed as an LSU football lean throughout his recruitment. In fact, if you look at On3, the Tigers are still the favorites, as they have a 78.5 percent chance of landing his commitment.

However, the 247 Sports experts have a different point of view. The Longhorns have received two crystal ball predictions for four-star class of 2024 cornerback Wardell Mack in the last 24 hours.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Mack is the No. 119 player nationally and the No. 3 player out of “The Boot.” If coach Brian Kelly wants to continue to show the country that the best in Louisiana play for LSU, this will be a massive recruitment for him.
