For the second time in the upcoming recruiting cycle, LSU football has officially landed an offensive five-star recruit. Today during the annual Under-Armour All-America Game, class of 2025 running back Harlem Berry officially announced his pledge to the Tigers.

LSU recruiting lands big-time commitment from five-star class of 2025 running back Harlem Berry

On August 12, 2023, LSU landed a surprise commitment from five-star Duncanville, TX, wide receiver Dakorien Moore. For obvious reasons, it was a big moment for the future of Tiger football. However, it’s becoming more and more clear that it was a sign of things to come for their class of 2025.

Since his announcement, three more recruits have followed suit, with five-star running back Harlem Berry being the most recent to join the group. The Tigers are now up to seven total commits, including five on offense.

Standing at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, Berry is one of the best players in the state of Louisiana, not to mention the entire country. Ranking No. 16 nationally and No. 1 among running backs, according to 247 Sports, the five-star already looks like a future star.

As a sophomore in 2022, it became abundantly clear that he wasn’t going to be stopped any time soon. On the ground, he recorded an eye-popping 2,237 yards and 37 touchdowns on 11.5 yards per carry.

However, the Louisiana recruit is impressive in more aspects than just the football field. A native of Metairie, LA, Berry’s been known to put up impressive numbers in track and field throughout his high school career as well.

In the spring of 2023, Berry came away with the Louisiana 1A state championship in the 100-meter dash (10.57), as well as a second place finish in the 200-meter (21.43). Not only are the Tigers getting a talented running back with today’s commitment, but an all-around high-level athlete who should be able to come in and make an immediate impact.

Notably, the Tiger class of 2025 may be just getting started. Coach Brian Kelly and his squad are in the running for multiple big-time uncommitted recruits. Most important is likely quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 player in the country, who will be making his final decision later this week on January 6, 2023.
