Just when you thought Tiger recruiting couldn’t get much hotter, coach Brian Kelly went ahead and proved you wrong. Today, LSU football recruiting landed its 28th commitment of the class of 2024 in four-star offensive lineman Coen Echols.

LSU football recruiting lands commitment from class of 2024 offensive lineman Coen Echols

On December 7, 2023, offensive lineman Coen Echols was committed to play for Texas A&M this coming season. Now, on December 22, 2023, the class of 2024 four-star has flipped over to LSU and will instead call Baton Rouge his future home.

Since taking his second ever visit to the Tiger campus just one week ago, Echols has been trending towards the purple and gold, and he finally made it official today on the final day of the Early Signing Period. LSU beat out fellow SEC foes Auburn and Texas A&M for the blue chip recruit.

With his commitment, coach Brian Kelly has officially landed six offensive line commitments, two of which are rated a four-star or better.

The Katy, TX, native ranks among the best linemen in the entire LSU recruiting class, as well as the country, sitting at No. 151 nationally and No. 6 at his position.

His ranking is likely based on a combination of talent and potential. Standing 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, he has surprising agility for his size. It’s not uncommon to see him running alongside his ball carrier as he looks to clear a path downfield.

With today’s announcement, the Tigers have claim to 28 commitments in their class of 2024, bringing them up to No. 11 nationally. Furthermore, coach Kelly still might not be done, as the Tigers appear to be in contention for other top recruits, including five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley.
