After a bit of a dead period through the month of February, things are once again off to a hot start for coach Brian Kelly and LSU football recruiting. Today, blue chip linemen Micah DeBose, Jahkeem Stewart and Lamar Brown were each predicted to land with the purple and gold.
Class of 2025 offensive lineman Micah DeBose got things started
Things got off to a fast start for LSU football recruiting this morning, as both Billy Embody and Shea Dixon of On3 released their official Micah DeBose to the Tigers predictions.
Already, DeBose ranks as one of the best players in the country, sitting at No. 3 among blue chip linemen, as well as No. 68 nationally. Rated as a four-star in the class of 2025 â according to the On3 Industry Ranking â the Mobile, AL, product already has the look of a future impact player at the college level.
Officially listed at 6-foot-4, 281 pounds, he has room to fill out his frame quite a bit, but with a full year of high school ball remaining until he sets foot in a college weight room, he has plenty of time to get there.
Right now, LSU leads the way in this recruitment, sitting with a 96.8 percent chance at landing the talented class of 2025 recruit. Along with the Tigers, keep an eye on in-state Alabama and Auburn as they potentially look to make a push to keep DeBose close to home.
Five-star Jahkeem Stewart officially trending to stay in-state
Not long after the prediction for class of 2025 offensive lineman Micah DeBose, the class of 2026 followed a similar trajectory, as five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart received his first prediction for the Tigers around 9:06 a.m. CST this morning.
Yet again, the pair of predictions came from Embody and Dixon of On3, helping to make LSU the new overwhelming favorite to land the elite Reserve, LA, product, sitting with a 92.8 percent chance.
Ranking as the No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 1 player nationally, there are very few players in high school football who can compare to Stewart, regardless of class.
Listed at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds, his size is virtually unmatched and already looks more than capable of dominating at the college level.
Notably, the Tigers already have the No. 1 player in the class of 2025 committed to play in Baton Rouge, as quarterback Bryce Underwood initially committed in early January. If talented defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart elects to follow suit, it would make for two classes in a row with the top overall recruit landing with the purple and gold.
Louisiana-based five-star Lamar Brown kept the train rolling for the blue chip linemen
Finally, the last of the blue chip linemen to receive a prediction to the Tigers was five-star Lamar Brown, who has the kind of ability that could land him on either offense or defense at the next level.
Officially listed as a 6-foot-4, 260-pound inside offensive lineman, Brown is no stranger to the defensive side of the ball, having logged plenty of solid snaps at defensive line for University Lab in Baton Rouge, LA.
Yet another talented lineman out of Louisiana, Brown ranks among the very best nationally, sitting at No. 5 overall and No. 1 among inside offensive linemen. He also ranks No. 3 in-state, trailing fellow top Louisiana-based recruits Blaine Bradford (safety) and Jahkeem Stewart (defensive lineman).
Along with the Tigers, Alabama has been making a consistent push for him, managing to get him on campus for two unofficial visits thus far. The purple and gold are currently leading the charge, resting with a 98.4 percent chance, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Whether coach Brian Kelly and LSU manages to seal the deal for the elite linemen is yet to be seen. Still, with several insiders viewing the purple and gold as overwhelming favorites for all three, Tiger fans have every reason to be excited for the future of football in Baton Rouge under the current coaching staff.
