The world of recruiting is constantly changing, and so is the same for recruits and their list of top choices. While class of 2026 offensive lineman Lamar Brown recently named a top-six, he’s officially eliminated the list and the LSU football recruiting target will move forward with a completely open recruitment.
Elite class of 2026 LSU football recruiting target fully reopens recruitment
The best in Louisiana play for LSU, and coach Brian Kelly has done an excellent job at keeping this true thus far through his tenure. Since taking over in Baton Rouge prior to the 2022 season, the Tiger head coach has signed 38 recruits from in-state and is showing no signs of slowing down.
As we look ahead to the next two recruiting cycles, Louisiana as a whole has claim to 10+ top-200 recruits nationally, and the Bayou Bengals are already making strong pushes for each and every one of them.
One such LSU football recruiting target is offensive lineman Lamar Brown, who currently ranks as the No. 2 player in the entire class of 2026.
Not too long ago, in late-December, the five-star Louisiana product released a list of his top-six schools, including Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Tennessee. However, after some additional thought and some new offers, he had a bit of a change of heart, opening his recruitment completely for the time being.
Since releasing his initial list of finalists, Brown – a current attendee of University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, LA – has received offers from Texas and USC, two of the biggest national brands in college football.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, according to 247Sports, the talented LSU football recruiting target has shown that he possesses both the size and athleticism to compete on both sides of the ball. While experienced at both defensive tackle and offensive tackle, his ability to block downfield has many top programs expecting him to focus primarily on offense once he gets to the college level.
There’s still almost two years remaining until the talented offensive lineman needs to make a final decision. Still, with him being from Baton Rouge, the Tigers have to feel good about their chances to land a commitment over the coming years. For now, though, don’t expect a final decision anytime soon.
