Five-star LSU football defensive line commitment officially joins the Tiger class of 2024

What a rollercoaster of a day it’s been for coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers.

This morning, things got off to a bit of a rough start, as the program missed out on flipping big-time five-star athlete Terry Bussey. Luckily, it didn’t take long to turn things right back in a positive direction, as former Texas A&M commit Dominick McKinley has officially signed his letter of intent to join the LSU class of 2024.

McKinley, an LSU football defensive line commitment turned signee has consistently been viewed as one of the top players in the entire class of 2024. Ranked as the No. 14 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, he’s solidly a five-star recruit and the top player in Louisiana.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds, the Acadiana High School standout has the kind of power that immediately translates to the next level. Furthermore, being a multi-sport athlete, he has incredible athleticism for his size, which could allow for some flexibility along the defensive line.

While Tiger fans can expect to see plenty of him on the inside throughout the coming years, his ability to bend around and power through opposing offensive lines should make him a stellar run-stuffer regardless of where he lines up.

According to Gabe Brooks of 247Sports, he projects as a future first round NFL prospect, largely thanks to his combination of size, speed and athleticism.

Keep an eye on the big-time LSU football defensive line commitment, as he could earn immediate snaps on a Tiger team that’s questionable in depth along the defensive interior heading into 2024.

With his signature, the purple and gold now have 29 signees in the current cycle. While National Signing Day isn’t technically over yet, this projects to just about finish up the cycle and turn focus to the class of 2025 where the Tigers already have the No. 1 ranked class in the entire country.
