As electric as the Tigers have been in the world of recruiting lately, it’s important to remember the give and take of college football. Today, four-star LSU football recruiting targets Jameer Grimsley and Peyton Joseph began trending to the Florida Gators.

Class of 2024 defensive back Jameer Grimsley trending to Florida

Just two days ago, it was revealed that four-star LSU football recruiting target Jameer Grimsley was likely to make his final decision between the Tigers and Florida. This report came following the Florida product’s decision to transfer away from Alabama just weeks after initially signing with the Crimson Tide.

Furthermore, it sounded as though he’d be making a final decision as soon as possible, and after today, it seems as though we may be approaching an announcement.

In the last 24 hours alone, experts from both On3 and 247Sports have revealed their expectations for cornerback Jameer Grimsley, predicting him to the Gators.

According to 247Sports, Grimsley rates as a four-star recruit, and a top-250 overall player in the class of 2024. Additionally, he sits as the No. 18 cornerback, with the potential of playing wide receiver as well.

With this recruitment potentially impacting next season, it’s important to note that the Tigers have been battling with roster space over the past few weeks. Currently preparing to bring in 35 new addition players this coming season, the purple and gold need to be conscious about how much space they have available.

Whether that has anything to do with today’s prediction is yet to be determined. Still, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on through the remainder of the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Interestingly enough, Grimsley isn’t the only LSU football recruiting target trending away from the Tigers. Today, class of 2025 offensive lineman Peyton Joseph was predicted to land with the Gators, just one day after announcing his list of finalists.

Chad Simmons isn’t the only On3 expert expecting Joseph to land in Gainesville, as Michael Langston went ahead and joined in on his prediction shortly after.

Listed as a 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman out of Warner Robins, GA, the high four-star recruit will be a big-time land for whichever team gets his commitment. Notably, he has an announcement date set for February 18, so there’s plenty of time for coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers to make a late push.
