On Monday, The Los Angeles Athletic Club released its Wooden Award Late Season Watch List, which featured 20 of the top players in women’s basketball at the college level. Notably, two LSU stars were featured, as both Aneesah Morrow and Angel Reese were listed.

It’s been a season to remember for both forwards Aneesah Morrow and Angel Reese. While 2023-24 has featured plenty of ups and downs for the Tigers as a whole, the pair of forwards have stayed consistent, putting up some of the best numbers throughout the country.

Unsurprisingly, their performances have gotten them plenty of spotlight on the national level, and most recently helped them to make the Wooden Award Late Season Watch List.

Morrow, entering just her third year of college women’s basketball has been a rebounding and scoring machine for the Tigers. Averaging 17.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, it’s almost surprising if she doesn’t record a double-double on any given night. While new to the program, the former DePaul transfer has proven to be an immediate asset for a team looking to make a deep run in March.

Angel Reese is yet another big-time rebounding/scoring threat whenever she hits the floor. Interestingly enough, and also similarly to Morrow, a night without a Reese double-double almost never happens. Through 18 appearances this season, she’s found a way to the achievement 12 times. In turn, she’s averaging 19.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game to go along with an additional 2.0 steals and 0.8 blocks per game.
