The class of 2024 recruiting cycle is nowhere near complete. Still, that hasnât stopped the LSU coaching staff from dipping their toes into the class of 2025. Recently, major LSU football cornerback target Jaboree Antoine received a big-time boost in rankings and is officially a five-star.
Class of 2025 LSU football cornerback target Jaboree Antoine is officially a five-star
There is plenty of elite talent out of Louisiana for the 2025 class. The state has two players ranked within the top 40, with cornerback Jaboree Antoine being rated the highest.
He recently received a significant boost, moving up to five-star status. According to 247 Sports, he ranks No. 27 nationally, No. 1 in Louisiana and No. 4 at the cornerback position.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect out of New Iberia has quickly risen as one of the best players in the country. Even more encouraging is that early signs point to him wanting to stay close to home.
According to On3, LSU (11.3 percent) and Grambling State (9.9 percent) have the best chance of earning his commitment. Still, itâs hard to say for sure, as he hasnât even begun his junior year of high school yet.
Antoine is a playmaker on both sides of the ball
Five-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine is an athlete through and through. He can do pretty much anything on the football field, whether it be on offense or defense.
Technically, heâs listed as a cornerback, but this doesnât mean he isnât more than capable of making big plays on offense.
During the 2022 season, Antoine recorded 32 tackles, five interceptions and a whopping 11 pass breakups. Itâs getting to the point where opposing offenses would be better off not throwing in his direction.
The LSU football team loves to keep talented players from Louisiana in-state. For coach Brian Kelly, this will be a big one. Antoine has game-breaking ability and could take the Tiger defense to a new level from the moment he gets on campus.
