Coach Brian Kelly and LSU are showing no signs of slowing down either on the football field or in the world of recruiting. After landing multiple four-star recruits over the last few weeks, the Tigers are now trending for former Arkansas commitment, lineman Carius Curne following today’s announcment.
Big-time blue chip lineman Carius Curne announces decommitment
After shutting down his commitment just two short months ago, blue chip lineman Carius Curne has officially opened things right back up.
The former Arkansas commitment initially announced his pledge on February 7, but after a change of heart, it appears that he wants to take a closer look at the several SEC offers that he already possesses.
Along with the Razorbacks, the talented lineman has five other offers, all of which come from some of the best SEC programs out there. The complete list includes Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri and Tennessee.
LSU has quickly emerged as a favorite to land the former Arkansas commitment
Officially listed at 6-foot-5, 288 pounds, the class of 2025 lineman projects to the offensive side of the ball, but is more than capable of making an impact on defense as well.
Additionally, ranking as the No. 85 player nationally and No. 1 out of Arkansas, according to On3, it’s almost surprising he doesn’t have more offers. Still, with the way things are trending, it appears that he might not need any more.
The timing of his decommitment is particularly notable. After visiting LSU just this past Sunday, it’s clear that the Tiger coaching staff gave him quite a bit to think about, possibly to the point that he may have found his new home in Baton Rouge.
Immediately following the announcement that his recruitment had opened up, multiple recruiting experts from both 247Sports and On3 immediately released crystal ball predictions for the former Arkansas commitment to land with the purple and gold.
The Tiger class of 2025 already ranks as one of the top groups in the entire country, thanks in large part to their impressive 11 four-star or better commitments. If Curne elects to join the group, he’ll not only be their 12th commitment of the cycle, but also their fourth offensive line pledge, joining Tyler Miller, Devin Harper and Brett Bordelon.
