The nickname āWRUā holds plenty of power, especially on the recruiting trail. Notably, it seems as though this is especially true for the Tiger class of 2025, as they have two pass catchers committed already. Now, LSU is trending for yet another big-time four-star, as Florida-based wide receiver Cortez Mills included the purple and gold in his list of schools that are standing out early.
LSU standing out amongst the crowd for four-star Florida-based wide receiver
LSU coach Brian Kelly is making it abundantly clear that heās simply loading up on the very best talent the class of 2025 has to offer. With three five-stars and six four-stars already committed, theyāve been about as efficient as you can be thus far.
Additionally, with many other top-100 recruits still considering the purple and gold, they have the potential to just keep rising even higher. Most recently, the Tigers were included as a school thatās standing out early for Florida-based wide receiver Cortez Mills.
Listed as a 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver out of Homestead, FL, Mills is the definition of a do-it-all pass catcher. While heās not necessarily the fastest or tallest, he does all of the little things right, even having shown an impressive ability to block downfield.
Ranking as the No. 130 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 18 among wide receivers, it should come as no surprise that he has a pretty impressive list of offers thus far, which includes Clemson, Georgia and Miami.
As a junior for Homestead High School, the Florida-based wide receiver recorded 79 receptions for 1,640 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2023.
Notably, as there are already two wide receivers committed to the Tiger class of 2025 (five-star Dakorien Moore and four-star TaRon Francis), coach Brian Kelly has the ability to be relatively selective at the position going forward ā if they so choose to be.
Right now, the schools to keep an eye on in this recruitment appear to be Clemson, LSU, Miami, Nebraska and Penn State.
