At this point, it’s a pretty safe assumption to say that coach Brian Kelly has been pretty happy with what he’s seen from the Weeks family. After first landing commitments from brothers West and Whit during his first few seasons in Baton Rouge, it appears that he’s now going after a third, as LSU football recruiting most recently offered class of 2026 linebacker Zach Weeks.
LSU football recruiting extends offer to third Weeks brother
Could yet another Weeks brother make his way to Baton Rouge, LA, for his time in college? While there’s plenty of time remaining until he ultimately makes his final decision, LSU football recruiting at the very least just made it a possibility by most recently extending an offer to class of 2026 linebacker Zach Weeks.
The Weeks family name has quickly become quite well known within the Tiger linebacker room. Despite their father David Weeks playing offensive line at Georgia in the 1990s, eldest brother West Weeks elected to make a change in the family line, initially committing to play for Virginia in the class of 2021 before ultimately landing with LSU football recruiting ahead of the 2022 season.
From there, it appears that the family enjoyed their time watching West play for the purple and gold, as just one season later, Whit Weeks decided to join his older brother under head coach Brian Kelly for the 2023 season.
Now, as we look ahead to the future, the Tigers might not be done with the Weeks linebackers, as class of 2026 three-star Zach Weeks has officially impressed enough to receive some interest from the new Tiger defensive coaching staff.
Officially listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Weeks is rated as the No. 383 player nationally in the 2026 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 25 at his position.
While it’s still fairly early on in his days of high school football, it hasn’t exactly stopped him from impressing some of the top programs nationally. Already possessing offers from Duke, Ole Miss and USF, the younger Weeks is already making an impact at the linebacker position, recording 81 tackles, one sack and one interception this past season for Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, GA.
While Zach unfortunately wouldn’t have the opportunity to play with his oldest brother West if he were to ultimately choose LSU, if Whit chooses to stay in Baton Rouge, LA, for four full seasons, the duo could potentially get one year together during the 2026 campaign.
