The LSU Tigers have been no stranger to elite wide receiver play. With three already committed to the position for the class of 2024, this level of play should continue. Still, they arenāt done yet, as LSU football recruiting is a finalist for top 100 prospect Jeremiah McClellan.
LSU football recruiting named a finalist for elite wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan
LSU football recruiting has been on fire through the 2024 class cycle. With wide receivers JoJo Stone, Kylan Billiot and Michael Turner Jr all committed already, they could easily be set at the position.
Still, with the programās reputation of being able to recruit and develop the position, it comes as little surprise that they could take a fourth (or maybe a fifth). One of those possible commits is Jeremiah McClellan, who recently included the Tigers as a finalist.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver out of St. Louis, MO, is one of the best at his position. According to 247 Sports, heās listed at 91 overall and is the No. 17 wide receiver.
Along with LSU football, Ohio State, Missouri, Oregon and Georgia were included in his top five. Ohio State is the current favorite to land the top 100 commitment.
McClellan could help fill a spot in the Tigersā class of 2024
As mentioned, LSU football currently has three wide receivers committed to the class. While thatās amazing and should help the Tigers well into the future, thereās one glaring area for improvement in the group.
As things stand, Kylan Billiot, out of Houma, LA, is the only true big-bodied receiver they have in the class. Billiot is listed at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds. Besides him, the other two commits ā JoJo Stone and Michael Turner Jr ā are more known for their speed.
Itās notable that McClellan is also known for his speed, but he also has the size and strength to go up and grab a jump ball or two.
McClellan is far and away an Ohio State lean for now, but thereās plenty of time until national signing day. If LSU football can work some magic in this recruitment, it would be significant for coach Brian Kelly. The top 100 class of 2024 receiver has elite talent. Not only would he help the Tigersā class as a whole, but he could solidify their wide receiver group as one of the best in the country.
