Despite a late push from coach Brian Kelly and LSU football, the Tigers have officially missed out on a priority recruiting target. Today, class of 2024 athlete Terry Bussey elected to sign with Texas A&M on National Signing Day.

If nothing else, LSU and Georgia at the very least gave the Aggie faithful quite a scare near the end.

Class of 2024 five-star athlete Terry Bussey had been committed to Texas A&M since September, and for the most part, seemed to be unwavering in said commitment. However, once at-the-time head coach Jimbo Fisher was fired, there was some hesitation, and the priority recruiting target elected to hold off on signing with a program.

In turn, this opened the door for several major college football teams to make a late push, which ended up including LSU and Georgia among others. Unfortunately for Bulldog and Tiger fans, the late recruitment visits didn’t do the trick, as Bussey has now announced his pledge to stick with the Aggies and make his way to College Station, TX, for the 2024 college football season.

Bussey, a five-star athlete and the No. 11 player nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, is by far one of the best recruits in the entire class of 2024. Despite being from a bit of a smaller school in Timpson, TX, the electric recruit made it nearly impossible to overlook him.

In 2022, Bussey recorded 4,773 yards, 72 touchdowns, 115 tackles, five interceptions and four defensive touchdowns as a junior. Naturally, his offer list only followed, and Texas A&M has officially won the race.

While the top schools seemed to be Georgia and LSU made a strong push near the end, the stud athlete appeared to have Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M as his final five schools.

With LSU officially missing out on Bussey, the Tigers will likely end the class of 2024 cycle with 29 commitments, which includes three five-stars and a whopping 16 players out of in-state Louisiana.
