It’s week 13 and LSU football vs. Vanderbilt is officially less than 10 hours away from kickoff. While the two teams each sit with a pedestrian 6-4 overall record, it’s important to note that pride is on the line for both, and we’re set to learn plenty about the current mental state of these programs later this evening. Here’s a look at everything you need to know for game day, including an injury report, the Saturday morning betting odds and how you can tune into the SEC matchup.
LSU football vs. Vanderbilt injury report
It’s been an injury filled season for the Tigers, and the last few weeks have certainly been an indication of it. With multiple impact pieces having already been ruled out for the year, including safety Jordan Allen, linebacker Harold Perkins Jr, cornerback JK Johnson, wide receiver Kyle Parker, running back John Emery Jr, defensive end Princeton Malbrue and defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory, depth has taken a major hit over the last 13 weeks.
Still, it hasn’t been all bad as far as injuries are concerned for the purple and gold. Offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger, for instance, went out with a high ankle sprain in late October vs. Texas A&M, but has slowly been returning to form, and while he’s still officially listed as a game time decision, it appears that he’s nearly ready for some action.
“Yeah, he practiced today,” coach Brian Kelly said about the veteran offensive guard Thursday evening. “I think we’ll still make it a game time decision, because he’s coming off of a surgery, and we want to make sure he feels great. So, we’ll probably list him as questionable until we get him through the workouts Saturday morning.”
Aside from the veteran offensive lineman, LSU is anxiously awaiting an update on the status of several other important players, including the likes of offensive lineman Miles Frazier (questionable), defensive tackle Jalen Lee (questionable), wide receiver CJ Daniels (probable) and wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr (probable).
As far as Vanderbilt is concerned, things appear to be much more set in stone ahead of game time, according to the SEC Student-Athlete Availability Report, as wide receiver Dariyan Wiley, defensive lineman Zaylin Wood, cornerback Mark Davis, edge rusher Boubacar Diakite, offensive lineman Grayson Morgan and defensive lineman Bradley Mann have all been ruled out.
Betting odds, how to watch
Coming away from a three-game losing skid, it would have been understandable if Vegas had lost faith in this Tiger team that was once viewed as a potential 2024 College Football Playoff contender. Still, as we find ourselves just a few hours away from game time, it appears that the purple and gold are still the far and away favorites for today’s week 13 LSU football vs. Vanderbilt matchup.
As of Saturday morning, Brian Kelly and his squad remain strong candidates to come away with a win this evening, currently resting as an 9-point favorite over the Commodores, according DraftKings. Furthermore, with a full game Over/Under of 52.5, it doesn’t appear that a crazy high scoring game is expected, as neither offense has shown consistent dominance up to this point in 2024.
LSU football vs. Vanderbilt is scheduled to kickoff today, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. CT. The week 13 SEC matchup will take place in Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, LA, and will be available to watch live on SEC Network.
