Coach Brian Kelly and the LSU football class of 2025 continue to make an impression on some of the top pass catching talent in the country, most recently being included in the top-five for blue chip wide receiver Derek Meadows.
LSU football making a strong impression on blue chip wide receiver Derek Meadows
Well, they donāt exactly call LSU āWRUā for nothing. After most recently producing several first round talent wide receivers such as Justin Jefferson, JaāMarr Chase, Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr, the purple and gold have found themselves trending for some of the top pass catchers the class of 2025 has to offer.
Even despite just losing a commitment from five-star Dakorien Moore earlier this month, coach Brian Kelly doesnāt appear to be hurting for blue chip wide receiver recruiting targets. Among said targets include Jaime Ffrench, Kaliq Lockett, CJ Wiley, and now Derek Meadows, who included LSU in his top-five schools earlier this week.
Along with the Tigers, Meadows included several top college programs within his list, as theyāll be competing against Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Notre Dame for his talents.
Rated as a five-star recruit, according to 247Sports, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Las Vegas, NV, standout currently ranks No. 32 nationally, as well as No. 6 among players at his position.
While Notre Dame looks like the current favorite to eventually earn his commitment, according to both 247Sports and On3, heās certainly doing his due diligence when it comes to research for the best option for himself. Among his current list of scheduled official visits are Georgia (June 7), Notre Dame (June 14), LSU (June 18) and Alabama (June 21), as well as Michigan which heās visiting today.
As we stand, the LSU football recruiting class of 2025 ranks No. 2 nationally and No. 1 among in-conference foes with 11 total commitments. If the Tigers manage to land a pledge from the five-star Meadows, heāll join a pass catching group that already includes four-star wide receiver TaRon Francis (New Orleans, LA) and tight end JD LaFleur (Sulphur, LA).
