The LSU football roster might be among the most talented in the SEC in 2023. Earlier today, the SEC released its All-SEC teams as well, along with its preseason media poll. When looking through the list, it’s not hard to see that the media is high on the Tigers. They have 11 players on the preseason All-SEC teams, including quarterback Jayden Daniels and linebacker Harold Perkins Jr.

LSU football has 11 players named to the 2023 preseason All-SEC teams

In total, there are 28 possible spots on the preseason All-SEC first team. In addition, there are currently 14 teams in the SEC. If you do the math, that’s two players per team if things were split evenly.

LSU football has six members of their roster on the preseason first team. As if that weren’t enough, they also have five other members on the second or third teams.

Overall, those are impressive numbers, and it goes to show you just how much talent is on the 2023 roster. Only two teams in the conference have more players on the list, as Georgia and Alabama each have 16 representatives.

LSU football has some lofty goals heading into the 2023 season. Many of the players have been very open about their conference and even national title aspirations.

If Brian Kelly’s squad wants to come even close to achieving said goals, it will be because their stars performed as expected.

Players like quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Malik Nabers will combine for an elite passing game. Defensive tackle Maason Smith and linebacker Harold Perkins Jr will be stifling on defense. Long snapper Slade Roy and placekicker Nathan Dibert will be cool, calm and collected on special teams.

The expectations are in place – now it’s just a matter of performing up to standards. Here is the full list of LSU football preseason All-SEC selections:

  • Senior QB Jayden Daniels
  • Junior WR Malik Nabers
  • Sophomore OT Will Campbell
  • Junior DT Mekhi Wingo
  • Redshirt Sophomore DT Maason Smith
