LSU football was already hot on the recruiting trail heading into Saturday’s junior day. However, after landing one class of 2025 commitment and most recently trending for top Louisiana offensive lineman Devin Harper, it’s safe to say the Tigers are now on fire.

LSU recruiting weekend assists in making the Tigers a heavy favorite for top Louisiana offensive lineman Devin Harper

When it comes to coach Brian Kelly and recruiting the class of 2025, it’s probably a wise decision to just step out of the way and let him do his thing. With over a year remaining in the cycle, coach Kelly and his entire coaching staff have been lighting things up, currently sitting at nine commitments – eight of which are rated as a four-star or better.

Notably, six of their commitments are on the offensive side of the ball, but following some recent defensive hires, things appear to be headed in a very good direction for the Tiger defense.

Now, less than one full day following a top-20 commitment from cornerback Jaboree Antoine, the purple and gold are trending for yet another elite player, this time being top Louisiana offensive lineman Devin Harper.

Harper was in Baton Rouge on Saturday along with several other LSU commits and recruits, and clearly, it seems to have gone well. This morning, Shea Dixon of On3 went ahead and put in his prediction for Harper, projecting him to eventually land with the Tigers.

With his logged prediction, the Tigers now have a 98.9 percent chance at gaining a pledge from the stud Louisiana offensive lineman, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

The Shreveport, LA, product ranks as the No. 156 player nationally, as well as the No. 7 inside offensive lineman. Additionally, he ranks No. 3 in-state, just behind current Tiger commits running back Harlem Berry and cornerback Jaboree Antoine.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 287 pounds, Harper is an absolute beast in the middle, and has the athleticism to slide outside if necessary. Furthermore, the class of 2025 standout is a dual sport athlete, competing in discus last year as a sophomore for Calvary Baptist Academy.

While it’s no guarantee that Harper lands with LSU, it’s hard not to feel good about the way things are trending right now. Along with the purple and gold, Harper has Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Texas Tech in his current list of top-10 schools.
