The time has officially arrived! Every year, as we head into November, the annual College Football Playoff rankings are released. These rankings will ultimately determine who makes the playoff at the end of the year, and for 2023, coach Brian Kelly and LSU football are entering week 10 at No. 14.
LSU football lands at No. 14 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of 2023
We’re in the home stretch of the 2023 college football season. With November rapidly approaching, it’s time to start looking forward to the postseason, and most notably, the College Football Playoff.
Tonight, the first rankings of the season have been released, and as things stand, coach Brian Kelly and LSU football have landed at No. 14 nationally.
Notably, they have a big opportunity to take a jump this weekend, as Alabama, which they’ll face this weekend, sits at No. 8 overall.
With a win over Alabama and a final record of 10-2, they could very easily find themselves in the SEC Championship with a chance to win and slide into the playoff.
Furthermore, Missouri came in at No. 12. LSU beat the Tigers of Columbia in early October, making the higher ranking a bit of a head-scratcher.
As the Tigers sit at No. 14 overall, coach Brian Kelly and his team have quite the challenge ahead of them. There’s no room for error, and if they want to continue their climb in the rankings, winning out is 100 percent necessary.
