As the class of 2025 begins to pick up, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers have already started looking ahead to the next recruiting cycle. Notably, LSU recently offered class of 2026 wide receiver Jabari Mack, who also happens to be the top pass catcher out of Louisiana.

After over 30 years of coaching experience, it’s a pretty safe bet that coach Brian Kelly knows what he’s doing when it comes to the recruiting trail. Not only is he in the process of finalizing yet another top-10 class in 2024, but he’s even began looking as far ahead as the class of 2026 cycle.

Earlier this past week, LSU officially went ahead and offered top Louisiana wide receiver Jabari Mack.

Ranking as the No. 56 player nationally and No. 9 among wide receivers, according to 247Sports, Mack is already viewed in an incredibly high regard as far as the 2026 recruiting cycle goes.

Standing at 6-foot, 170 pounds, he has solid size paired with some serious speed that makes him a threat every time he touches the ball. However, it’s important to note that he doesn’t necessarily need the ball to make a play.

When it comes to blocking wide receivers in the high school ranks, there are few better than him. In fact, it’s not uncommon to see the high four-star continuing a block well downfield, sometimes even into the sideline.

For coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers, this is the exact kind of player they likely want to go after. Football is a team game, and LSU has spent significant time and energy building the trenches to form a big-time running game.

Adding wide receivers on the outside who are willing to block will only help to boost this aspect of the game, and in turn, open things up for play-action type passes.

Along with the purple and gold, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Tulane are among some of the top programs in college football showing early interest in the big-time Louisiana pass catcher.
