Today, the coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers received some excellent news on the class of 2024 recruiting trail. After decommitting from Texas A&M late last week, four-star Louisiana edge rusher Gabriel Reliford has flipped over LSU football.

Four-star Louisiana edge rusher Gabriel Reliford commits to LSU football

Since first making his way to Baton Rouge prior to the 2022 season, coach Brian Kelly placed a significant emphasis on recruiting the state of Louisiana. LSU has a unique advantage, as some of the best talent in the country often goes unnoticed, largely due to the lack of coverage in southern Louisiana.

However, this did not go unnoticed by the former Notre Dame head coach, and itā€™s beginning to pay off for him. Since joining the Tigers, he has secured commitments from 40 in-state players.

The latest addition to this commitment list came today, as Gabriel Reliford, a former Texas A&M pledge has now flipped his commitment to LSU.

Reliford, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound edge rusher out of Shreveport, LA first committed to Texas A&M in June. However, following the coaching shakeup in College Station, his commitment began to waver. Less than a week after decommitting, he has chosen to stay close to home and commit to Coach Brian Kelly and LSU.

The star from Evangel Christian Academy is not only considered one of the best players in the state but also nationally. According to the 247Sports Composite, the four-star Louisiana edge rusher is ranked No. 277 nationally and holds the No. 8 position in the state rankings.

With his announcement today, the Tiger Class of 2024 now boasts 27 total commits, earning them the No. 13 spot overall.
