When it comes to the sport of basketball, jumping ability is not everything. With that being said, it certainly helps things. Recently, former Kentucky power forward and current LSU basketball transfer portal addition Daimion Collins showed off some impressive jumping ability at a mock NBA Draft.
LSU basketball transfer portal addition shows off impressive jumping ability
Coach Matt McMahon was a busy man over the offseason. Not only did he gain two recruiting commitments, but he also brought in six transfer portal additions.
Among those six was former five-star power forward Daimion Collins. Collins was one of the highest-rated transfers within the LSU football class of 2023, rating as a four-star with a 0.9100 rating.
Heading into his third college basketball season, Collins has some decent experience but hasn’t quite lived up to his five-star high school rating. In two years with Kentucky, the power forward recorded just 2.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game. It’s notable to mention that those numbers came in just 7.7 minutes per game.
However, despite the lack of production thus far, there’s no denying his ability. The LSU basketball season is over a month away, but this transfer portal pickup already looks electric. Yesterday, a video came out of his running vertical jump.
In that video, he not only maxed out the test, but he reached the top of the backboard. For context, that’s 13 feet in the air.
There’s plenty of time remaining until the start of the basketball season. Still, it’s hard not to be excited about the potential this LSU basketball transfer portal addition is showing early on.
