Passionate sports video game fans throughout the country have every reason to be excited heading into this summer. As the release of the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game approaches, LSU football and quarterback Garrett Nussmeier made some big-time reveals Thursday afternoon.

LSU makes big-time announcement ahead of new EA Sports College Football 25 video game

And just like that, it’s official. After 11 long years, the LSU football program will once again be featured in a major sports video game.

After an initial announcement in February of 2021, EA Sports College Football 25 will finally come out this summer. The announcement was not only big for video game fans, but college football fans around the country.

To help build up the anticipation, many teams have taken part in the advertising, announcing their individual participation on social media. Notably, for Tiger fans, LSU has officially revealed their involvement in the historic game.

The purple and gold aren’t the only program to have made the announcement, as all 134 FBS schools will reportedly make an appearance in the new edition.

With the newest edition of the formerly annual game, not only are fans getting the opportunity to play as their favorite teams, but they’ll also be getting the opportunity to play as some of their favorite players.

Earlier this week, it was reported that student athletes are being offered $600 in addition to a free copy of the game as a means of payment for their name, image and likeness. Additionally, players have the ability to opt out, which will simply mean that they’ll be replaced by a generic player character.

However, LSU football fans can rest easy, as already, one of the biggest names for the purple and gold has already announced his involvement in the project. On Thursday, starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier officially revealed that he will be in the EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

While most players are likely to be a part of the game, head coaches unfortunately will not. Still, it appears that this could be a part of future editions, so video game Brian Kelly could be hitting your televisions at some point in the not too distant future.

Despite all of the unknown that remains about the upcoming game, there’s little doubt that fans and players throughout the country are more than excited to get their hands on it. For now, though, stay tuned as more updates are sure to be coming out at a rapid pace over the next few months.
