It hasn’t been the dominant class of 2024 recruiting cycle many Tiger fans had hoped for. Still, with a commitment from the top player in Louisiana, the purple and gold should still be in good shape going forward. Additionally, five-star LSU women’s basketball recruiting target Sarah Strong is still on the board, and was most recently selected for the 2024 McDonald’s All-American roster.
LSU women’s basketball recruiting target Sarah Strong named to the 2024 McDonald’s All-American roster
After the Tiger recruiting class of 2023, it’s safe to say that expectations were at an all-time high for coach Kim Mulkey. After all, they brought in four top-100 recruits, as well as the top-two transfers available.
While the Tiger class of 2024 hasn’t been quite as profitable, they do have one commitment from top-100 point guard Jada Richard. Furthermore, despite her lower ranking, Richard is the top-ranked player in Louisiana and has one of the better offensive arsenals in the entire recruiting class.
Additionally, the class isn’t quite written in stone yet, as coach Kim Mulkey is still targeting the No. 1 player in the country, five-star forward Sarah Strong. Notably, the North Carolina product was also just selected for the annual McDonald’s All-American game.
With her selection for the upcoming All-American game, women’s basketball fans across the country will get a chance to see the top LSU women’s basketball recruiting target in action against some of the best players in the class of 2024.
Chosen for the game were 24 of the top-33 recruits in the nation. Right now, 14 college programs are represented, with the potential for even more, as two of the players remain uncommitted.
With Strong being selected for the East team, they’ll face off against the West in a nationally televised matchup on April 2. The McDonald’s All-American game will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston and will be available to watch live on ESPN2.
While still technically undecided on her future home, the 6-foot-2, five-star forward appears to be down to LSU, North Carolina, Oregon, UCLA and UConn.
